This is Part 2 of a scenario series for the Marias Pass route.
The summer of 1989 is a busy time for the Burlington Northern Railroad. The grain harvest is in full swing, and the already busy rails of the BN mainline are at the limit with
seasonal grain trains. 1989 is an important year in the history of BN for other reasons. After years of experimenting with different 'high visibility' paint schemes for their
new locomotives, BN has settled on a new standard scheme. The first units of the new 'white face' scheme are hitting the rails, and the remaining 'tiger stripe' units are fading
into extinction.
You are at the controls of BN 3110, a unique unit even among the increasingly rare tigers. Your train is this days second section of Train #3; BN's expedited intermodal express
between Chicago and Seattle. Track work between Havre and Shelby has slowed your trip across the 2nd Subdivision already. Heavy traffic on the line has prevented you from making up
much of that lost time so far. You have a tough task ahead to get back on your schedule of 7 hours and 10 minutes across the subdivision.
Good luck!
