Scenario Description and Notes
========================================

Your assignment is to take Train No. 9, the Fast Mail, over Donner Pass from Truckee to Norden in May of 1949.  The mountains offer slgnificant challenges to trains going both uphill and downhill.  Fortunately, your locomotive is one of Southern Pacific's mighty Cab Forward 4-8-8-2's.  Norden is a water stop.

The Fast Mail has eleven cars including express boxcars, express reefers, baggage cars, and a single rider coach.  It originated in Ogden, UT, and will terminate in Oakland, CA.  The consist is a combination of Railway Express Agency (REA), Union Pacific, and Southern Pacific cars.

Duration:    45 minutes
Difficulty:  steep mountain grades
Type:        express passenger train
Tasks:       mainline passenger run from Truckee to Colfax
