Two Trains Running Scenario Set RS2012 version 1.0
The Scenarios:
=============
These scenarios replicate the route of the actual Coatbridge Central to Glasgow Local as provided by National Rail for the
morning of Thursday 14 October 2010.(Provided as a .pdf) Small liberties were taken with the timing to allow interaction with fictional
AI traffic. The scenario then has the player drive a second train from the Glasgow Area to Lanark. This time the actual route and
approximate timings are used ( as illustrated by "National Enquiries Train 2.pdf".) As this is a "timetabled" scenario, the player
is free to "jump" from the story-line train to any other, simply by clicking on it.
Two .rwp installer files are included and differ only by the required rollingstock and player consists
Version : Class 318 - This is the full version, but requires ( in addition to WCML, ) the
UKTS Freeware Pack - UK DMUs-EMUs-Trams #1 v1.1.0. (see below for source information.)
In this version you will be driving the Glasgow area Stathclyde Transit Electric Multiple Unit.
Version : Default - This requires only the rail equipment that was supplied with the WCML route or is default
installation for Railworks3 . In this version you drive the Diesel Multiple Unit trainset and a Class 86/coach train.
This version differs slightly and is set in the winter.
Since both scenario follow a typical schedule, minor interference from other (AI) traffic should be expected, AS LONG
AS YOU MAINTAIN THE SCHEDULE. For further experience, try to beat the schedule and check the consequences.
Install
=======
First obtain the necessary version of this route
This scenario will only install into the "West Coast Main Line North Add-On" route obtained from the
DLC Steam Store. The current price for this route is $39.99 US. And while steep, this may be a good
value due to all of the related scenery and rollingstock that is included with the download.
(Optional : req only for Class 318 Version. )
Next obtain and install the "UKTS Freeware Pack - UK DMUs-EMUs-Trams #1 v1.1.0"
This Freeware is available at
http://UKTrainsim.com website as UK DMUs-EMUs-Trams fileid=27134
OR
Railworks America website
http://railworksamerica.com/FileLibrary/UKTSFreewarePacks/
The scenarios are supplied via two".rwp" files. Start Railworks, but stop on the opening
(splash) page. Along the top of this page are a series of tabs. Select the package manager
tab. Click the "Install" button and select the "Two Trains... .rwp" file you wish to install.
The selected Scenario install into the West Coast Main Line North route. NOTE: You may install both scenario - they each
have unique identification numbers and names.
Failure of a scenario is almost always due to missing rail equipment. RW_Tools is the best solution
for checking and swapping equipment that is missing. http://www.rstools.info/rw_tools.html.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As usual somewhere along the line are a few scenery modifications that you should be on the lookout for. Keep
your eye on the road.
This scenario set will be particularly rewarding for those who like to "drive" their trains
from the cab.
Suggested Modification: Instead of starting the scenario at the rather unrealistic granite blocks, in the Default
scenario version, you may wish to add the Inspection Platform as shown in ModPic.jpg (included.) The inspection platform
must be added as a scenery asset, if you have acquired the free scenary package "UK Buildings Model Pack (Free DLC)"
http://store.steampowered.com/app/24086/. (Item A in the photo.) To delete the granite blocks (item B,) you must be
in scenario edit mode, in the world editor.
