Scenario for Eyein's SD80MAC and Horseshoe Curve
Bring 13,000 tons eastbound coal train from Johnston to Altoona, using power of 6 NS SD80MACs.
Cheat sheet
1. Pull the train up to the top of the hill, using all units. Do not exceed 40 MPH for this train. You'll run uphill on track 1 and occasionally on track 2.
2. Stop after New Portage tunnel east portal, before next signal with "Stop" aspect, and disconnect helper units from rear end.
3. Run downhill, using dynamic brakes. Keep speed 20-21 MPH and watch for approach signals, as there is other train descending ahead of you.
4. Stop at Altoona near crew change point. You actually don't need to complete stop, just slow down to 1-2 MPH.
5. Profit!
