Description

Queen Mary Island Railroad

The Queen Mary Island Railroad is a small (roughly 2 miles of trackage, spurs and yard tracks included) route set on a fictional Canadian island in between Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

The railroad primarily services a forest products facility, but a small transload in the former Bisque Bay yard allows for a metal fabricator to ship steel. The tracks to the east and west have been out of service for
decades, with many sections turned into trails. All freight cars come in and out by way of the rail barge Alsace, which can fit 8-9 freight cars depending on length. The railroad operates two locomotives, of ex-CN
heritage: an Alco S2 and an EMD G12, though the user is more than welcome to utilize any locomotives they wish. The Portland Terminal MEC GP40 is used as a placeholder in the free roam scenario for those who don't own these locomotives.

This route is rather short, and is more or less a showcase of some route-building methods I've been trying in my spare time as I extend my creations beyond New England. It also provides an excellent spot to run the EMD G12.

To install, you need to extract the .rwp file and use the Railworks Utilities application to install it.
Alternatively, you can manually copy the file "82e8beeb-6750-42c7-95bb-b40282b2f3fc" to the railworks/content/routes folder.

For this route, you will need:

Payware:
-RWA Lakeside (RWA website)
-VNHRR Springfield-New Haven (Steam)
-Boston and Albany (Steam)

Freeware:
-Portland Terminal/Maine Maritime (RWA website)
-Pennsylvania Steam (RWA website)
-Columbia Valley Pacific (RWA website)
-RCAP (RWA website)

Additionally, I recommend locomotives like the Alco S2 and the EMD CN G12 from DieselWorkshop, though any small switchers would fit. There's also plenty of free rolling stock options in the file library and elsewhere to use on the route if you wish.

Please enjoy! Remember: you are more than welcome to make repaints, rebuild spurs, or extend the railroad as you wish. If you publish it, though, I'd be grateful if you gave me a shoutout.
