Two and Three Story Houses for Railworks, version 2.0

During the housing boom of the 90’s and early 00’s, housing developers came up with cheap cookie-cutter construction plans that could be quickly and easily replicated. Hundreds of thousands of these boxes were thrown up in subdivisions across the U.S., and slightly modified versions of these plans are still being used today.

 The Models

 Seven different houses are represented in this pack. All of them (except for the three-story home under construction, come with crawlspaces for easy placement on hills, night lighting, snow textures, and LODS to minimize moiré and gpu usage. Shadows models are not included but should show up in Railworks 3.

Installation and use

  NOTE: If you already have RC2 of the Atlanta North District Route, these assets are already installed. The only difference is that these have been stripped of shadows in anticipation of Railworks 3.

1. Scan all contents of the SMM_2-3StoryHouses.zip file with a reputable virus scanner. 2. Unzip file to a convenient directory on your computer. 3. Open Railworks and navigate to the Package Manager tab. 4. Select "Install" and navigate to the folder where you unzipped the SMM_2-3StoryHouses files. 5. Click on the SMM_2-3StoryHouses.rwp file to install the asset into RailWorks. 6. Open Railworks and select your favorite route. 7. Using the World Editor, make sure that your object filter has "SMMDigital" selected so that the house asset will show up in the assets list. 7. Place, position, and enjoy!

1. This asset is freeware, for download and use by any modeler on any route, free or payware. 2. You may download and install this Asset on as many computers with functional Railworks installations as you wish. 3. You may distribute the RWP along with your route, if you choose not to package individual assets in your distro, so that end users of your route will not have to hunt the file down on a third party site. 4. You may not convert these Assets, source files, or source derivatives to any other simulation program or game asides from Railworks (no porting). 5. You may not sell this individual package, it’s contents, source, or source derivative.
