Old Manual Turntable

To install:

1) Unzip the file Old_Manual_Turntable.zip

2) Start TrainSimulator 2012

3) Open the PackageManager Tab

4) Select the Install Button

5) Navigate to the Old_Manual_Turntable.rwp file that was unzipped in step 1

6) Double click the rwp file, and TrainSimulator 2012 will automatically install

To use in a route:

In the World Editor Mode Use the asset selector  and check provider RHam and product Addon Select the Track icon Select the Turntable Icon In the list of assets, the turntable is called 'Turntable Old Manual' Select it and place it in your route Choose the paintbrush icon and use the height tool to push down the terrain inside the turntable to reveal the turntable bottom

This asset was made for fun and for free.  Authors of Freeware Routes may package this turntable with their routes.  Payware and donationware authors must contact me (dick8299) in the forums if they wish to include this asset in their routes.

A note on disappearing turntables:

With the advent of RW3, turntables (and manual switch stands) can disappear after saving an edit to the scenario.  This affects both 3rd party addons and default items.  The turntables are still there, but do not become visible until called on by the simulator.  Once called on, they remain visible for any subsequent restarts of the scenario, until the scenario is edited again.  To work around this (if it is a problem to you), when editing the scenario, add a locomotive and driver to a track approaching the turntable (making note of the service name); save the scenario; select the locomotive and press g (or shift g) to align the turntable with the active track.  The turntable is now visible and will remain so.  If you do not want to leave the engine and driver at that position in your scenario, exit TrainSimulator 2012, and edit the scenario using RW_Tools to delete the added locomotive, save the changes to the scenario, and then also use the delete empty consist button for the scenario.  The scenario should then be usable per your original intention and the turntable will be visible.

This asset works on my computer and was beta tested by another community member.  It should not cause any harm to your system or TrainSimulator installation.  If there is a problem with it, first delete the turntable from any routes you added it to using the World Editor, then use the Package manager of TrainSimulator 2012 to uninstall the package, or simply delete the Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RHam\Addon\RailNetwork\turntables\OldTurntable folder
