Happy Birthday America!
Congratulations on the Semiquincentennial. I hope you enjoy these special ALCo PA Reskins from this pack.
Included in this pack are the two liveries worn by the "Freedom Train PA", ALCo No. 74696; the 1947-1949 "Spirit of 1776 Livery"; and the post-1949 to 1962 Gulf, Mobile & Ohio 292 Livery.
To install these skins you require the G-Trax Boston & Albany Route from Steam that includes the base NYC ALCo PA.
You also require the freeware add-on D&H ALCo PA-4 and New Haven PA from G-Trax.
To install these engines copy the included folders to your Railworks installation, often "Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets".
The finished subfolders should be "G-TraX\BostonAlbany\RailVehicles\Diesel\PA FT-1776\Engine" and "G-TraX\BostonAlbany\RailVehicles\Diesel\PA GMO\Engine".
You will have to either copy the ALCoPA_DH.GeoPcDx file from the D&H folder to the GM&O folder and the ALCoPA_NYNH.GeoPcDx file from the NYNH folder to the FT-1776 folder; or run the enclosed .BAT file.
The .GeoPcDx files may still be packed up in the included ".AP" file which many Steam Store routes include (and the Boston & Albany does feature). If this has not been done, you will not to extract the
2 .GeoPcDx files from the same file structure held within the .AP assets file which can be found in "RailWorks\Assets\G-TraX\BostonAlbany".
Decals are applied via child objects, which are packaged with the route. I used the old Pacific Coast Railworks EMD E9 decals as a starting point for the decals for the PAs.
At one point the GM&O added "Lift Here" decals, but those are not reflected here. The builder's plate is a photorealistic one taken from the plate which a friend has in his home; as is the commemorative
plate applied to the side of the locomotive by the GM&O and ALCo upon the engine's overhaul and resale after the 1949 conclusion of the original Freedom Train tour.
We need some Pullmans to go with the engine, the old BLLW 6-3 GLEN series car would be correct, but I doubt too many people have that pack. How we need some new proper Pullman Company heavyweights in game.
This is to be installed at your own risk, with no gurantee of service, with this pack having been created simply for fun, and only released in a bout of patriotism to celebrate. Limited help can be provided
on the RailworksAmerica Forum. No money is to be intended from this, and no copyright infringement is intended in any way.
Enjoy. 1776-2026!
