Some photoreal textures for Britkits locos
Britkits® Blomberg Sideframe Overlays
It has been noted on several occasions the texture on the Blomberg B bogies on the Britkits® F Series and GP7-9 locomotives has a somewhat unrealistic color/gloss. I have been working with Photos of several different real world Blombergs and have worked up the following textures for you to replace the originals. Mr. Cowen has done a great job on the 3D models and I've tried to match the textures up as well as I can. In the included Blomberg_Sideframe.zip are the following:
Black-03 - a replacement black with some enhancements to make the details show better, and the gloss is gone.
MildW-03 - unpainted steel, mildly weathered with grease and rust stains.
Rusty-03 - taken from a photo of an SP GP9, and really rusty.
Silver-03 - worked up from a picture of a G Scale F7 bogey, the silver was used by UP and a few others.
Each of these is properly formatted .TgPcDx file, ready to use on the Britkits® F7-8-9, and the GP7-9. They can be used for the FT and F3, but you'll have to edit a matching plain journal texture (the Silver has one already so you can see what's needed).
Once your repaint is done, and your file structure is finished, rename the current -03.TgPcDx, and then replace it with the one you want to use, renaming it to the original -03 name.
