How do you use Rail Simulator add-ons in Railworks 3 and 4 ?

Unread postby Railfan587 » Fri Oct 19, 2012 3:58 pm

I got some new engines from UKTrainSim.com (57xx Pannier GWR and LBSC A1 Terrier No.40), and when I put on the track in scenario editor they didn't show up on the track. Whats wrong ?

Do you have the creator checked off in the asset box?

Is this a repaint? If so the readme should have spoken about copying the GEO files over from the original model. Not having them will cause the engine not to show up on the tracks.

If you tell me the UKTS file numbers, I can check them out for you. Of course, you could have asked on the UKTS Forum.

My railway photos are back - you can access them from this thread viewtopic.php?f=24&t=21667a . Lots of UK steam and early diesels from the late 1950s and early 1960s.

20082 for the Terrier and 20160 for the GWR 57xx 5764. I know that the pannier isn't a repaint because the Falmouth Branch Expansion Pack ,which has the 57xx,came out for Railworks 2 not Rail Simulator.

I have another problem. I got the Ivatt 2MT and the 3F Jinty last night and I tried to make a free roam scenario this morning and the 2MT and Jinty made the game crash.

The Readme for the Terrier (20082) and the 57xx (20160) say:

'The Cab and Crew are now aliased to the 0-4-0 in RSDL's IOW Addon so you will also need that in order to see them'

If you don't have the Isle of Wight route installed, that could be the problem. I know they both work for me, as I do have IoW installed.

I have a picture of my problem. As you can see, you can only see the chain couplings.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Like I mentioned before this is a classic case of where the GEO file is missing. The reason why the couplers (chains) are showing up is because they are aliased and the GEO files are present. This happens a lot with repaints where the author forgot to mention which GEO files needed to be copied over from the original model.

That makes sense. Has anyone downloaded theses engines before? If anyone has these engines please let me know what's missing.
