Wo ist das wasser? Nein, er ist nicht kein wasser! (Hope I came close: "Where is the water? No, there is no water!")

I have to hand it to the Germans: they evidently dry clean their trains ... very ecological, that!

Thanks for reminding me of my college German: unless I'm wrong again, all nouns are capitalized. Good grief, the things that hang around the back of one's mind for decades!

I ran this scenario and all was going well. Went through the dry wash and about half way to my first stop, tooling along at 100+, without warning the speed limit dropped to 60. There were no warnings about this change. In the lower part of the HUD, the 60 speed limit sign didn't show, and I saw no sign along the track.

Not fair to put phantom speed limits on a line. Has anyone else had this happen?

You really do have to read the manual. Some signals will show a "6" or "8" above the signal indication showing a diverging speed limit. Multiply that by 10 and you have your speed limit.

I've read the manual. What I'm saying is that all the speed limits don't show up in the HUD. I just ran a quick drive from Munich to Ausburg slowly, and the speed limit changed from 40 to 60 without any indication a short distance from where it was to change to 120. There was no sign beside the track, no signal, nor any speed limit marker in the HUD. This happens several times on the route. One interesting one is just before exiting the tunnel to the washer, the speed abruptly changes from 40 to 10 well before you reach the 10kmh speed limit marker.

It will be very difficult to run a scenario properly if you don't know where the speeds are going to change. I ran the scenario very carefully yesterday and was penalized for speeding 11 times. Having the speed limit signs in the HUD would give you some advance notice of a change. Perhaps this is by design, but I would think that they were just left out.

Well, sh.. happens! I just got a payware package with scenarios for SH (there's only one so far). Full of those tricks! The HUS tells you a 20 mph speed limit is coming up, you slow down to respect that and seconds later you get bashed for going faster than 15 mph.
Not only that, after a big jolt I lost my entire consist and went from 42 mph in notch 6 to 67 mph in the blink of an eye, go figure!
Oh well, I guess some devs are too hasty to get their products on the shelf and don't take the time to iron out the small goofs!

Well, sh.. happens! I just got a payware package with scenarios for SH (only one available so far....) and it's full of those tricky situations. Sends me to sidings where there are no consists to pick up, tells me through the HUD and track signage that a 20 mph limit is coming up, so I start to slow down only to get bashed for going faster than 15 mph about 300-400 yards before the 20 mph limit is valid and so on. After a big jolt just outside of Laramie I lost my entire consist and in notch 5 went from 40 mph to 67 mph in the blink of an eye... Er, eventful to say the least
Guess some devs are so anxious to get their stuff on the shelf that they don't take the time to iron out the goofs. Quality is in the details guys!

Thanks for the correction, Kevin: my college German, taken only for research purposes, leaves a lot to be desired. Looks like Germans like double-negatives as much as Italians do! We anglophiles miss all the fun.

Yeah, but can you say that I Italian? Seriously, thanks for the lesson, even though I'm going to have to get out my old German-English dictionary in order to understand it. I'm having a good time with this and I hope others are as well.
