He could build it to run on standard gauge track if he wants to.

Or buy Durango and use the 3ft track.

I don't have to look around, I've have already created my own 2' 6" track for it. :D
Just have to create various textures for the different parts of the PBR line, it varies quite a bit. *!!wink!!*

The main reason for joining this group is to learn (pick up tips) about 3D Crafter.
I currently use Blender but can't use the exporter for what I'm doing. (A Payware Route)
I use 3D Canvas for import from Blender then exporting to RW, so I may as well learn more about 3D Canvas/Crafter. !*salute*!

Cheers

Just to confirm that this project is still underway, Part 3: Detailing, is up, and Part 4 is being written, but probably will be about three to four weeks in the making. I'm dealing with issues related to the NSAND route right now, but i'm also working Dayshift, which doesn't allow as much time for locomotive building.

Metal side down!

Hi

Here's something I discovered about 3D Crafter while doing this tutorial.

3D Crafter 8.2 Build 1144
Y movement does not work when selecting constrain buttons X & Z then using the mouse on the model object, points or faces.
However it does work with the gizmo on the right of the window.

Surprisingly this is in 3D Canvas 7.12 as well as 8.2 Crafter build 1144

Steps I used to replicate this problem.

1 Place a cube on the modelling surface.
2 Select any edge or face
3 Select constrain buttons X & Z

Can’t move any direction using the mouse unless I move to the right Gizmo.

I've sent this to Richard at Amibilis.

Cheers,
Alex

Oh there are a whole mess of little bugs in 3DC. I've been able to avoid most of them. Before I start posting them to Amabilis, I need to make sure that they are in the 9.2 beta (which has its own new problems).

Still tons left to do (including those pesky trucks).

Those front trucks look quite detailed to me! Looks like your moving along quite nicely.

Alright so I'm a bit lost in this thread. I saw a guy make a locomotive with Blender, so I'd like to make a loco from Blender. Actually, I'd like to make a loco by using SketchUp, but converting it to blender. I'll be back on near noon.

I am not familiar with Blender so I can't help there. SU can do some strange things when you report to so I don't really recommend it.
