Fuel pumps

Unread postby artimrj » Tue Mar 20, 2012 6:17 pm

We made a lovely discovery today. The diesel fuel pumps only operate from one side. Found some on the NERW route that would not refuel an engine, spinning them 180 degrees fixed it. My kingdom for some decent documentation. Route builders be aware of this.

The side with the hose laying on the ground has to be facing the engine to refuel.

I've played around with these alot. I wanted to set one up then hide it under ground to simulate refueling from a truck parked next to the track. Didn't work.

Thats a pretty neat idea, are you sure the hose was facing the track correctly?

How would one go about making a new one that has a hose on each side. I know they must have had one in real life. If anyone could guide me through it I might attempt to build one in 3D Crafter.

How about applying the feuling "simulation?" to a tanker truck for DPU refeuling? or Steam loco oil fired Locomotives?

You have a kingdom???? Just thought I'd butt in by noting that the folks who design routes for RSC often misorient crane loaders as well. Perhaps they think of these items as scenic additions, without taking into account that when some of us see a fuel pump or a loading crane we think of them as interactive sites for scenarios.
