Scenario Editor Crashes

Unread postby Bananarama » Sat Oct 01, 2011 1:20 am

Anyone else get odd behavior in the scenario editor? With each save the sim crashes when it attempts to go to play. Loading from the main menu for play or edit works fine, and it matters not that it's newly created or from a previous save. Only the transition from edit, save, and then directly to play mode causes the crash.
Cheers!

Not here, is working fine with me, even from the Scenario Editor (save and go to play). The behavior of AI trains are weird, thou, I don't know if it's new or not: Player Train fails if there is another AI train in the same path, doesn't matter whether 1, 2 or 3 (didn't gone far) signal blocks ahead. I'm not getting to follow a slower AI train ahead in the same track (path).

I get the occasional SBHH error while flying around in the editor, but never in the same place twice.

Can anyone else confirm that RailWorksProc2.exe is taking a bit over 2gig of memory? I am beginning to think this may be why some XP users are having problems.

Isn't crashing here, is working fine with me, even from the Scenario Editor (save and go to play). The behavior of AI trains are weird, thou, I don't know if it's new or not: Player Train seems to have highest priority despite of its class (especial, freight, light engine) and fails if there is another AI train in the same path, even though they are in diferent signal blocks. I'm not getting to follow a slower AI train ahead in the same track (path). Maybe I'm not leaving room enough (2 signal blocks at least) between trains.

I'm playing in a XP machine and used memory (for editing scenarios) never goes beyond 1.5GB (3 GB installed). The max overall CPUs (Dual Core) usage is 50%.

Scenario Editor crashed before the Update to Version 6.5 here, right now it works. The crashes occured every time I tried to switch from the Editor to play the Scenario. Right now, I only have the strange AI behaviour Machinist mentioned. !*don-know!* And I also have switching Signals from RED to GREEN and back every 10 seconds, so everything is blocked !*hp*!

Yeah, I've seen that very annoying priority issue too - that was around before & got fixed some time ago, no fun that it's back again.

I get crashes *in* the scenario editor occasionally, not when I save though.

I can save and play, but I get other wierd things, like all my switchstands dissappear, scenenry is white or opaque. So I just got into the habit of clicking play then as soon as something comes up I exit out and dont even let it finish loading. Exit out of RW all the way and come back play it and everything is back to normal.

There should be sufficient info for the program to tell you the sinful culprit but for some reason games just always go to the common default.

Thanks, but the route includes only my content and everything worked prior to the update and patches.

This is what I'm seeing now, but I don't know if it was really a problem with scenarios before, as I'm just getting into creating them. FWIW, the scenario consists of a single SD40-2 going from point A to point B without any player or other equipment on the track. This is in a fairly good-sized yard, however (+120 tracks), so perhaps it's just to much for the sim to bear. !*don-know!*
