New freeware GP30 - following on from their CSX family GP30 they have now released the BN/BNSF family

https://www.switchpointsimulations.com/

EDIT:
Comes with multiple variations of Horns, livery, plow or no-plow, Santa Fe AC or no AC on cab roof. All of the BNSF family including Kodachrome Santa Fe even a fictitious SPSF version AND all of the repaint templates in Paintnet format. One heck of a package and freeware.

These are excellent. On par with Searchlight Simulations. These are complex, with good sounds, lots of operational controls. !!*ok*!!

I would love to see the versions of GP38, GP40, and SD40. It would be fantastic, plus a new version of the CN EMD SD40-2W.

Not able to drive

Unread postby kris120 » Sun Mar 22, 2026 7:47 am

Hi folks !
I love quickdrive and while trying the GP30 BN (or any type of SPS's GP30) in such type of scenario I always fail to go.

What I do:
1. Generator Field upwards (think that is "on")
2. Reverser plugged in ( shift R )
3. Isolation to Run ( I )
4. The Unit selection switch is on 1 ( standard )
5. Reverser to forward
6. All brakes off
7. Regulator to N1, N2 ... NOTHING goes !

Eureka coming !

You must set the selector switch. Read page 34 in the manual about selector switch operation located above the throttle and below the data plaque.

Like that I've tried to go with "B" ...

It is working for me. Put the selector in position 1. Notches 2-4 are the same.
