KCS SD40-2 Grey Ghost

Unread postby wlenz781 » Thu Nov 28, 2019 5:26 pm

I have all four of my KCS SD40-2 Grey Ghost repaints done and ready to upload. I have used the NS model and removed the A/C unit child object for authenticity. I have made units 3201, 3204, 3205, and 3208.

Thank you wlenz.
Do you know more or less, the time lapse these locos have been running the KCS network?

For example KCS 3208 was built in 1972 in the White Ghost livery with engine number 645. It was later painted Grey Ghost in 1996. It was later painted again in Grey Ghost and renumbered to 3208 in 2006.

It would seem, the four units are still in operation and using that particular livery, according to current available rosters.
P.S.
Correction
3205 has been painted in the latest livery (red yellow black) in 2019:

Well, I would need someone to show me a tutorial on how to take a grey/metal colored background and add the white layer. I would also need some instructions on how to create the rust and grime. But hey, if I had that information then I would totally make a clean and weathered white version. With the Belle that I intend to make, that would give you four options for this engine. Perfect for all the KCS fans that want to run modern or older content. Plus, being able to create white engines will open it up to all me to create the older KCS content such as the GP9 for those that want to run in an older time frame like early diesel 50's-70's era.
