Hello everyone! ..that's me leaning back against the keg, reading the paper. Needed some relaxation since this one was a real bugger :D

Coming soon, a Northern Pacific Z-6 for the RSC Challenger Pack available at the Steam Store. This repaint is intended only as a "look-alike", rather than a historically accurate model, since it still uses the Union Pacific design as the foundation. Although every effort was made to portray the visual appearance of a Northern Pacific locomotive. Features dynamic historical numbers and markings. Should be available in the next RWA Library update.

To my fellow repainters: I probably spent over 12 hours over three days, chasing down the textures for the UP shield, and finally discovered them in the "Handrails" texture file, including the bump-files. I say this because even though I alpha'd-out the obvious decal files, the UP shields persisted in appearing on the smoke-box, giving the impression that the model file, or one of the bin files, was calling on the default textures located in the original payware ap-file. So that led to several web searches, editing bin files, swapping textures, black-magic, voodoo, and other unsavory ventures. So hopefully this information saves some future painter a big headache. !*cheers*!

Nice loco! !*drool*!

Just an addition to Northwest.
It looks pretty similar to the Western Pacific Mallets that ran along the Feather River Canyon and up to Salt Lake City:

https://www.wplives.com/diagrams/locomotives/1948/401-407.php

Though recognized as just a Mallet, this was quite similar to a Challenger.
There were seven of those.

Someone in RWA mentioned after the release of FRC, to repaint the Challenger to have a look alike, but I think it never happened.

It would seem steam is being awakened again in TS2018.

A compressor object for smokebox faces would be a wonderful addition, and would allow for creation of a much wider variety of "stand-ins" for the stuff we don't have yet.

I think this thread has served it's purpose as an announcement for my paintwork, so please feel free to use it as a development thread for any 3D work if you'd like. I don't have a clue about 3D modeling, so I'm really looking forward if anything can be done with this.
