Wishing Jerry the best. Sucks we'll never see the NS C39-8 on the store.

You probably will still see it. Jerry told me that he has finished whatever projects he had in the pipeline and mentioned the C39-8 specifically. It will be sold via DTG. His shorty tankers will most likely be sold on his site.

Well at least some good news this morning.

Anyone who needs or wants the Conrail U30C skin for the Steam Chessie U30C I would be more than glad to lend you a copy via PM. I backed it up a while back since I heard things were going down at VRC and good thing I did.

Glad I backed up the UP C30-7 reskin for the Steam CSX C30-7, cause now that's gone, too. And yes, once I get the Chessie U30C on Steam, I would really like to get those Conrail U30C reskins from you.

Maybe someone can get a hold of Jerry, and get his permission to post the reskins on this site? Would be easier than trying to track down a single person for the skins.

A pity the VRC locomotives are gone.

Hopefully RR-Mods will fill the gap and bring us excellent models from their extensive Trainz catalog.

This honestly makes me wonder if one of the reasons behind the Memorial Day sale they did was to make sure the pirate sites had a chance to grab everything before it was gone for good. Which of course begs the question of "it you're not selling it anymore why not make it freeware?", although I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of clause with DTG that they couldn't do that with the U30 and C30. I just wish they'd release the undec GP40s or something so there'd be more than just the single RWA variant available. I'm glad I got the whole collection when I had the chance, but it's a shame new players will never have a legitimate way to get their non-steam products. I dunno I'm rambling here, I'm just sick of seeing stuff like this happen all the time in the gaming hobby thanks to EULAs and copyrights and other capitalist bs. At least with with scale models, old, out-of-production stuff turns up at train shows and on eBay. Too bad there's no digital equivalent of that.

"capitalist bs"? If it wasn't for capitalist bs there would be no train simulator my young friend. If you said lawyer bs I would then agree.

It's a shame, VRC created some of the most high quality and accurate Engines for Train Sim. You could really tell the amount of work that went into every detail of every engine and scenario. Some of the best DLC on the market, sad to see em hang up the gloves but understandable that real life comes first. *!!thnx!!* !*salute*! .

One can hope that the DLC doesnt just linger in limbo on the hard drives of a select few. Hopefully they can be released somehow.

The fact he put his laptop up for sale I believe says more than anything else... There's always a chance (albeit slim) for another holiday sale, but who knows...I had my hopes on the FM locomotive he was teasing us with, but that's just me. All I can really say is he had a good run. At least we can still tinker with the models we still have.
