Thanks guys, glad to hear! First route so I was a bit worried I'd leave out something. I had a bit of trouble with signals/speed limits appearing on my F4 hud when testing, if I would reload a Quickdrive they'd just pop up sometimes, not sure if it's a design issue or a hardware issue on my end.

It's cause you used some signals that aren't supposed to be those type. You used a signal called "1H1T". Those are used for sidings and what not. I saw them on the mainline serving as a distant signal (?) I replaced the signals but did not know about the speed limits.

If you want can send you the route, but you will need RCAP. You can get that from the file library here.

Overall it's a challenge to run this route and I like that. SD40's and SD45's sound amazing when charging up the grade!

Ah, okay thanks! I don't know much about signals, didn't even know what the "1H1T" meant, other than it seemed to work for one track and was Tall lol.

I'll go ahead and get RCAP and try it out - if you want, sure I'll take a copy of it. Also, if it's easier, you're welcome to just throw an update up on the library as well for the route, no problems here.

RCAP assets won't allow for this to be published in the Steam Workshop though.

Just so everyone understands something simple. This lovely little work is his and he can do or not do whatever he wants to do. If any or all of you want to change it for your own use as usual feel free however he can do or not do as he chooses. I repeat nice job Kyle. !!*ok*!! !*salute*!
*!!thnx!!*

For the small section you did. It is incredible work. I tried my best using available assets to put together a prototypical Belmont coal train and tried running it eastbound downgrade.

The consist went something like this:
-4 engines up front (a mix of DTM sd45hh's and Kyle's SOU sd40-2hh)
-Roughly 60 coal cars fully loaded (I used the default KUJU model but anything works really)
-3 of Kyle's sd40-2hh's as DPU's with that locotrol car reskin he made and that SCLJim modelled directly infront of the mid train DPU's
-about 30 more fully loaded coal cars
-caboose (no helpers beyond this)

...From what I've seen around the internet this is fairly accurate compared to the real Belmont coal trains so go ahead and give this recipe a try if you all want some more realism.

Hey Kyle, as long time fan of the Southern with no aptitude whatsoever for repaints or route building, I just have to say this and the SD40 are awesome sir. Also, since you seem to appreciate history, maybe consider adding this Southern Saluda training video from 1984 to the download page; it'll teach everyone how to run the route HA!

A 10-15 psi reduction works wonders on the downhill section. Although i think SOU used retainers.

I appreciate it guys! John, I made up a consist about the same as you said myself - I believe the Belmont was right around 97 cars if my memory is right? I'm sure it varied a little from time to time. I did the SD40 and Locotrol repaints keeping use of them in a UCT like you did in mind. It's definitely fun to run it as close to the video as you can pkz19!

I'm glad people are enjoying it, I'm really happy it seems to work for everyone too! Again, I just made it for myself while deployed here on my laptop since I've always been fascinated with that section of line and wanted to share it for anyone else to try out too. It's not the longest or best route but should give a good idea and challenge that the real-deal presented. Maybe one day I'll expand it out either way - or if anyone else every wanted to do the same... !!*ok*!!
