Yes. Also certain road numbers will trigger certain nodes/child objects to match the real prototype as good as possible. For instance exposed or closed bearing caps on the trucks and such.

I'm texturing the entire engine by hand (no auto unwrap at all) making it as repainter-friendly as possible.

Textures look pretty HQ; are those high-res phototextures?

No idea how the number 5913 will remain if the loco will have dynamic autonunbering that also affects roadnumber-specific details.

Yes those are hi-res photo textures but obviously touched up to smoothly match the engine model. Of course this thing is not done yet and the static number will be removed at some point.

It's called multimark properly, but people call it pacman because of the likeness of him on the long hood in black and white.
