Confirmed here, also with a powerful desktop. All menus selection clicks now have about a one second delay before a response. Previously this was virtually instantaneous. Hardly a problem though. FYI, I have the free update.

My experience so far is just the opposite: the menus change immediately after being clicked. Perhaps this is just a matter of perception or something that depends more on individual computers and what they may be busy with in addition to TS, such as updating cloud storage, indexing files, etc.?

The 2016 file may be corrupted and I'm sure not intentional. If you didn't make a backup, then you'll need to wait for an update from DTG.

However, I would like to see the return of using custom loading route screens like we had prior to the 2013 update. *!rolleyes!*

This fix does work for me. Seems the "new" file is about 7Kb smaller then my backup. From experience, this tells me that the file didn't export correctly from Adobe when they made the flash file. !!*ok*!!

Agreed. It was such an useful feature. Especially if it showed a map of the route with labels.
I would like the possibility of custome scenario loading screens. You could read the scenario description and look at the map while you wait.

Thanks. No, nothing else of any significance running/happening when using TS20xx. At worst, the sim uses no more than about 15-20% of CPU capacity here, and about one sixth of available memory. It's not a problem of any consequence, just a petty annoyance. Loading times, smoothness of running, etc. are all the same as before, so far.

I did a couple of checks here this morning with a older copy and load times were identical between the new and old on my rig.

It works. Loading screen restored from 2015 backup. Thank you! I also doubt the issue was intentional. It wouldn't be like DTG to eliminate the captive advertising moments provided by the loading screens.

((Off topic: will be trying the Cajon fix you suggested to me using a new Route Template soon, per my post in Problems...... I'll report back over there.))

Perhaps it depends on the number of DLC in your game? All these pictures and descriptions have to come from somewhere.

I don't know if they are cached.

In Railworks\Content we have RVDBCache.bin, Rail Vehicle Data Base and SDBCache.bin, Scenario Data Base created on every start of the game, you can seen them scroll by on the startup screen.
I don't know what TMCache.dat contains, as it isn't serz'ed.

I don't. Know either but instead of that dorky gravatis filibuster or whatever it since now I have a huge 2016 is here sign while the route is loading. Thirty to forty seconds by the way.

Does anyone know what the "TS2016 User Interface Overlay" is exactly?

This is what the paid screens look like. The free upgrade has more or less the same layout, but uses grey buttons as in TS2015. I don't know if it was an intentional difference, but if so, then it goes against what they were saying last month and what was said about seasonal updates in general.
Cheers!

DTG stopped that as people found a way to add malware to them.

Also people who haven't bought the game don't actually have a loading screen.
