Apologies in advance if this is a "doh!!" question, but what couplers are you planning for this - the reason I ask is that the blog wip pics are showing UK style hook, which would struggle to couple to buckeye :D

No problem :D

The base model is being built from reference to 2 or 3 of the UK preserved versions with references back to the originals to keep it authentic - simply because I have lots of close up detailed reference for those. I then have reference for numerous other variants including many for Europe, the USA and the USSR, so modifications and options will be added later.

The current list of planned couplings are: UK/European hook coupler, US Buckeye/Knuckle coupling, Wilson coupler (USSR)

It's still on the go, I promise! !!*ok*!!

The other projects have been:
The GT3 I made in my spare time so that didn't really take away any S160 time - maybe just a day or 2 of finishing it off.
The K1 was "finished" back in January, but we had to wait for the Weardale and Teesdale route to be completed and sent to us so I do need to give that one some time for scenarios and a manual - but that shouldn't be too much.
The big project that's taken away from it the most I can't currently talk about or show anything of due to an NDA! An opportunity arose that we really couldn't refuse so had to put the S160 on a short hold.

But it is definitely not abandoned in any way and I expect us to get back to it being our sole project and give it full-time attention by mid-summer. If it isn't ready to go by the very start of next year at the absolute latest then something has gone badly wrong!

There are so few US steam routes, unlike the UK, I will just have to contend myself with my favourite - proto or not - the VNHRR. I am sure an unlined version shouldnt look too much out of place. Failing that, the RWA if Wayne will release the mods he keeps teasing us with !*roll-laugh*!

It does look good and I already have my pennies put aside *!lol!*

Can you please advise how this works. Is the generator positioning and the plow for example fixed by locomotive, or, can they be customised? For example, black maybe slightly weathered un liveried with generator forward and a plow to say work the New Haven or is the plow fixed to the variant that will be liveried Alaska? Will all variants be available as a set, ie, if your interest is US rail, your probabaly not going to want the Russian liveried version and similarly if you are looking for a UK variant, you are not going to want an Alaska.

**!!bow!!** & *!!thnx!!*

Obviously we're still in the modelling phase at the moment, but the idea will be to provide every applicable option with each livery, and they will be able to be set up via the loco number in game (or using the lists of pre-created numbers/options). I don't want to limit each livery to only 1 set of components - the most common thing in S160's (certainly post-war) is that nothing is common! Even within the same country/operating company they have numerous modifications.
The only limitations will be couplings by liveries - so the US will come with buckeye, the UK with 3 link, the USSR with Wilson (SH-3).

I'm not sure on release style yet: 1 big pack with everything. 3 separate packs (Europe/US/Russian). Original WW2 livery and then 3 (inexpensive!) packs of additional liveries (Europe/US/Russian) on Market Place. No idea yet! !**conf**!
