Anyone know how to attach a sound to a animated scenery object???

Unread postby jpetersjr » Fri Apr 17, 2015 1:12 pm

How do I get my wav DC-4 engine propeller sound to work on my animated Douglas DC-4 airplane.

So far, the blueprint is showing where it exported the sound into the sim with the airplane, but when I check it in the sim the sound isn't working.

Exported but the sound is not working.jpg

How I filled out the sound control blueprint, anything else I need for it to work.jpg

I want to place a sound on it like some of those other animated scenery items with sound, such as the forklift with sound.

Anyone know what's the correct way to do this.

Using part of this video for the airplane sound.

I got it to animate decently with the propellers running fast enough for a run-up before takeoff, but I'd like to be able to hear the engines as well.

Have a look at the excavator in the default kuju assets. It is animated and makes a sound.

Question is though, how do you open a bin file to have a look, found what looks like it, the animated forklift, and the digger, I think the digger is the one with sound.

What I get when I try to open the bin is a big mess, something I can't read.

Got everything else working so far and I believe that if I could figure out this problem I could probably get it working.

Having trouble with the sound component, proxy part of the blueprint.

I put in the proxy name, but it still doesn't want to work, I wonder if I'm doing something wrong here.

I just noticed you have ampersands in your folder names. XML doesn't like ampersands.
Also, look at your error message: the reference to the file is different from the path shown by the folders .
To answer your question , open bin files with RW-Tools.

Alright, I moved the files to the correct folder, but still getting the same error message, even know the file is now in the correct folder.
