Love the station model, Rick. And, a new Geep? Now, if that's an E8 waiting at the station, I'm gonna be in heaven. (well, at least when this gets released, that is *!!wink!!* )

It's a repaint of Dick Cowen's E7.

OK, good enough. I knew it wasn't an F unit but otherwise had no idea. No matter, I'll still be in heaven when this route is finally released. No hurry, Rick, I have lots of other stuff to do still. !!*ok*!!

ricksan wrote:-- The Portland Terminal route is a freight-switching route. That said, it's not totally devoid of passenger traffic. In the real world, Amtrak's Downeaster runs from Boston to Portland, and there are plans to extend that service to Brunswick, Maine. Historically, privately owned passenger trains stopped serving the area before the time time frame of this route (1960s and beyond). There's only one station within the limits of the Portland Terminal route and it's right in the city. So without at least one other place to stop it's not feasible to run timetabled passenger trains, although there's nothing to stop you from doing so. I included the E7 because that's what used to run here when I was a kid and, in the absence of ready-made Amtrak equipment, I wanted to have something to be seen running on the route in AI mode. I'll leave it to your imagination to explain how a '50s-era passenger train gets to visit the modern-day city. *!!wink!!*

Thank you Rick, I have plenty of operational imagination when it comes to playing with my Railworks...... *!!wink!!*

Excellent screenshots of the railway station building, it looks a MUST BUY when you've completed everything.

Greetings from across the pond.

Don, it should be available from G TraX themselves, as well as Steam.

Sorry, but for the time being it's only going to be available through Steam. It's a huge download and bandwidth charges could be financially prohibitive, at least for a small-time operator like me. I think there's a lot of potential for additional scenarios, including ones we just didn't get around to producing. Eventually I hope to offer some more from the site...as freeware, of course! !!*ok*!!

How many scenarios do you plan to ship with the route, Rick?

Good question, John, their website doesn't really say: http://www.gtraxsims.com/ No matter, I know Rick's work and it's an instant buy for me.

There are eleven Standard scenarios and one Free Roam in the package I submitted to RS.com. I don't know if they have any plans to add more, but they may either do that or convert one of ours to Career Mode. If all goes well, the User Manual, Track Chart and Scenario Guide (statistics, description and briefing) will be available for download at G-TraX later today. Meanwhile, enjoy the video!

I'm sorry to bring you the bad news. *!sad!*

RS.com on Facebook:
"Portland Terminal release delayed: Hi folks, we are very sorry to tell you that Steam will not be able to release the Portland Terminal Expansion Pack today as planned. We’re really sorry to keep you all waiting for this one, but we will keep you up to date on what’s happening. Sorry you won’t get to play it this weekend, it’s a lovely route! Simon"

EDIT: At least, we can now look into the manuals and screenshots. http://gtraxsims.com/
