Lighting and Color Balance - TS2014 vs Reality

Unread postby wacampbell » Mon Jun 30, 2014 10:07 am

I've been working on my route and spent some time looking at color and lighting balance before I got too far along. I have to give RSC some kudos. The image below compares a scene from my route in TS2014 on the left, with a photograph overlayed of the actual area on the right. I am pretty happy with the results.

In this scene I am using stock Marias Pass lighting ( I think it has the best lighting model of many routes that I looked at. ) The track, flora and much of the vegetation are my own custom models with a few imported items in the background.

Pretty interesting results.

Marias is the only good one, all other routes feel way too dark and sharp in contrast and make it hard to get good pictures.
