All you Tappa Talk guys

Unread postby artimrj » Wed Dec 04, 2013 8:36 pm

Over the course of this move to a dedicated server I was able to upgrade the forum software to the newest version and also fix the problem with not being able to make new forums. And kept all of the old mods intact.

I am off from Christmas Eve to January 2. If you want me to try this then that is when I can work on it. If it changes the appearance of the forum, like making in thin and narrow like TS.com's forum is, well then it ain't gonna happen. If it can be installed and people who do not want to use it are not affected, then I will add it in. At this time I know absolutely nothing about it, I do not own a cell phone and do not plan on buying one before I die. I just no longer have any excuse to not try it.

You can always talk to Matt, he knows what it does to the forum.
Non users of Tapatalk will not see any difference. It just makes it easier for us techies that are glued to tablets and 6" smartphones to use the forum :)

The instructions are here: http://tapatalk.com/activate_tapatalk.php?plugin=phpbb

That's all, and Bob is your uncle, eh, ok, webmaster, eh... !*roll-laugh*!

And besides, I'll be around to screw things up... oops... help !*salute*!

Tapatalk support for the forum would be great. I don't think it chanes the web view for anybody, just makes it accessible for those of us on mobile devices.

What it does for me is put up an annoying fracking ad asking if I want to use Tappa-Talk which hangs around at the top of the page (TrainSim.com) even though I have clicked NO. As is said above, I see the forum just fine on my Galaxy S4.

Sure, you can access the full web site on any decent mobile device. No arguing there. Just convenient and quick to have commonly used forums in Tapatalk.

Looks like Tapatalk is not supported anymore, or is it ?

I think the forum desktop layout works very well and looks nice and clean, but not very well suited to be used
on a phone.

What tool / setting / app do you guys use to navigate the forum on a smaller phone ?

Congratulations Cardinal. You now own the post on the all time oldest deadest thread.

10 years between posts is a long time almost as long as I once waited for a bus *!lol!*
