Fall Steam Sale

Unread postby TDHenderson » Wed Nov 27, 2013 1:57 pm

Hey gang, just noticed that Steam has started their Fall sale. Saw Stevens Pass on sale for $23.99. But, the site is getting hammered right now so it may take some time to get in and see what else is on sale.

They are also running Daily and Flash sale specials again.

Suggest getting anything and everything you are interested in now or in the upcoming winter sale. Otherwise you'll have to wait until the 2014 summer sale for best prices.

Personally I am a believer in supporting the developer, so if something comes out that I actually want, I will pay full $ (Like Mikes Connie and upcoming 844's). In the case of Donner, to me it is just another boring modern US route and I only need it (like Portland Terminal) because so many assets have been used in Bumbleberry. Had I known before hand, might not have been so eager to get on the Bumbleberry band-wagon :D

!*cheers*! and enjoy your Turkey Day...

It's a three way tie for me between Great Eastern (GEML), Stevens Pass or the Surfliner. All have their individual appeal, but I'll probably plump for GEML if only to relive those glory days of the late 70's and early 80's with some Class 31 and Class 37 hauled services out of the 'Street.

Don't forget there' will probably be a Xmas sale too so whatever you don't pick up in this one will hopefully be there at a discount again for next month's hobby allowance.

Well it was between Stevens Pass and the Surfliner Route. I went and got the Surfliner route for 3 reasons.....

1: It's located in the state I live in, so I'm kinda biased towards it.

2: I already own TWO conifer tree lined, mountain grade routes with tunnels (Donner Pass and Marias Pass).

3: UNLIKE when the Surfliner route originally launched, the Surfliner+ES44DC BNSF Add-On combo is the EXACT SAME PRICE as the standalone route! !!*ok*!!

I will get Stevens Pass at some point in the future. Now I'm off to download my route! *!greengrin!*

That Ultimate USA Collection was awfully tempting but I decided to hold off on that until the next sale and make my own. Marias Pass + SD40-2 (which was pretty much free), SD70ACe, SD70v2, Dash 9, and Portland Terminal. That should keep me busy for awhile :).

I kept looking at things I wanted (just had to have). Started going into night sweats in the middle of the day (although may have something to do with my age). !**duh*!!

So I broke down and picked up the following:

Donner Pass
Horseshoe Curve
Pacific Surfliner
Stevens Pass
Great Northern Empire Builder F7
EMD GP-20 SP

It was amazing on how my sweats subsided once they all finished downloading.

I'm a happy camper now, at least until the Xmas sale. !*YAAA*!

Well I took the plunge and bought GEML which is on offer at the same price of £14.99 as a twin pack including the Class 90 electric loco.

Will put Surfliner and Stevens Pass on the Xmas shopping list.
