Thankfully there seems to be a fix for this now that was reported on the UK Trainsim forum but was actually solved by the Germans and can be found on their website as well.

Not sure if this link works ok but here goes... http://rail-sim.de/forum/board38-train- ... uf-ts2014/

The bottom of the thread contains a download which will resolve the problem. Tried it and worked for me on S&C and HSC.

For those who want to know what's up before jumping in, the temp fix is by taking several of the TS2013 shaders and copying them to the TS2014 (assuming you backed up):

Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\dev\Shaders
- LoftTunnelBumpSpec.fx.o
- LoftTunnelTexDiff.fx.o
- LoftTunnelTexDiffTrans.fx.o

If you plan to install the fix, make sure to back up the TS2014 shaders first.

Note that there is always the possibility that using the TS2013 files may introduce other anomalies in TS2014. I tried a similar technique with an alpha shader when RSC released the 2011 version. It fixed the alpha smoothing issue, but also caused objects with texture alpha to "draw through" other objects. !**duh*!!
Cheers!

Thanks Hack, that worked. **!!bow!!**
It did have the strange side affect of removing the TS2014 icon from the desktop. IE the shortcut was still there and operational, but the TS2014 logo was removed from it.
That was an easy fix. I just went into the shortcut's properties and browsed into the Railworks folder and reinstalled the TS2014 icon using the "change icon" feature.

I added _bak to the existing files and then copied and pasted the German fix in. I didn't get them from my backup.
Also thanks for the file path. Reading German isn't my specialty.
Now to celebrate Oktober Fest. !*cheers*!

Oh yeah...
Here's a link to the exact post in the German forum so people don't have to scroll through all the posts.
It's the .zip file.

Or in an as yet unreleased product given the changes in the uncompiled files, perhaps we've just got undocumented changes.

Well...
My Marias Pass tunnels are now Zebra striped between Belton and Essex. At least some. I don't know why some are affected and some aren't.
I just put the German guys fix back in.
