It'd be nice if they'd give you the source files to modify, but you've probably got enough to do.

It'd be nice if they'd give me a license for 3DSMax I've only got 3DCrafter (much cheaper!) so there's nothing I could do with their source files anyway ... pity though.

You can open the source files in crafter you just need them in 3ds or IGS. I've done it several times before you just have to re link the textures in the side panel

I didn't know that! I've got some RSC stuff in .igs (couplings and crew figures) but I had no idea I could edit them in Crafter! I'll give that a go.

Yes you go to "import, trainworks, IGS" then you go to your source folder in railworks (or wherever your source files are) and you select the file there. Then you have to convert the textures to BMP and add them on in the side panel (shown in picture below)

Thanks Mike ... I've never used that panel before (never had any need to). I'll try it out later on, when I've finished doing this pesky injector water valve I'm working on at the moment.

I have been lucky enough to have followed 844 on a couple of trips in the US - 1997 the last run over Tennessee Pass and up Soldier Summit in Utah and in 2000 the Democratic Convention Special. Great times. Looking forward to having her stretch her legs up Sherman
