Aggregate Delivery. A Scenario for Castle Rock on the BNSF/UP Joint Line. By Blue Light.
The BNSF/UP Joint Line begins in Denver and runs North and South for 118 miles along the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountians to Pueblo. Between mile post 31 and 57 lay the towns of Castle Rock, Larkspur and Monument and here is where are story begins. Castle Rock Cement is perhaps the largest manfacturer of dry bulk portland cement on the front range and their prdoucts are sold throughtout the nation. In fact, there is so much freight that comes in and out of the plant that Castle Rock Cement has transportation contracts with both the BNSF and the UP. Curently, you are sitting in Monument waiting on disptach to give you the green light to procced. You started your day in Pueblo with 2 Dash 9's coupled up to 25 loaded hoppers of clay, limestone and sand, otherwise known as aggregate. You are the last of three trains that will deliver to Castle Rock Cement today.
