TS2016 Canada Heavy Crude Scenario Set- ReadMe
Description: This is a two scenario set for the Racetrack Aurora - Chicago Route.
In addition to the TS 2016 Route available on Steam, users new to Train Simulator
since 2012 may require the US Loco & Asset Pack, also availabe at Steam DLC Store.
The two scenarios included with this package are essentilly identical. One is
set in a Spring evening and the slightly more challenging version
is a Winter Morning.
Scenario type: Career
Season/Weather : Summer/ Clear OR Winter/Heavy Snow
Time: 18:00 8:00
Running Time: About 70 minutes for each part
Difficulty: Moderate
Requirements: see above
Description and Comments: The scenario starts with a pair of BNSF Diesel locomotives located
at the BNSF Cicero Yard Servicing Facilities. Intially your score will be set at
1000 points. Deductions will be assessed for speeding and rough handling etc.
You will move through the Yard, past the Container Loading Area,
passing out of the East End of the Yard. Near Cicero Commuter Station you will
move south along the Chicago Belt Railroad to the CN ( Canadian National )
Hawthorne Yard. When you arrive ( if you travel at track speed ) the first of two
sections of a shipment of Canadian Heavy Crude Oil tankers will have arrived on Track 1
of the Yard. You will be required to wait a few minutes for the second section of CN
tank cars to be delivered to the Yard.
You will then assemble the two sections of tank cars into a single train
for return to Cicero Yard. Some complex movements will be required to get the cars to
their assigned location for their eventual east-bound departure.
Plenty of AI traffic will travel around you, but only the CN shipment
locomotive pairs will interfere with your movements. So give them plenty of time
to clear your assigned path. Most of the switches are either automatic or have been
pre-set for you. But be aware of dialogs indicating that you must manually set a switch.
It will be good practice, however, to confirm the set path before making a movement.
NOTE: Due to a few signal script "mal-functions" some double head ground signals will
display red over dark, instead of red over yellow. It is not necessary to stop at these
signals, but do take care to check to make sure that the routing is appropriate for your
desired destination.
Not all speed changes are labelled on the f3 or f4 "strip" display. In general
assume that all Yard tracks have a default speed limit of 15 mph. However some of the
through tracks may be set higher.
