***************************************** **** Class 66: Work trials at York **** **** A scenario for TS2013 **** ***************************************** Creator: Tom Pallen Scenario name: Class 66: Work trials at York Time: app. 45 minutes Difficulty: hard Route: East Coast Mainline Required DLC: Freightliner Class 66 V2.0 East Coast Mainline Add-on Notes: the East Coast Mainline route became an add-on with the appearance of TS2013; those who owned previous versions of the simulator should already have this route; older versions of the Class 66 engine will not work with this scnario. *************************************************************** In this scenario, you drive a Freightliner Class 6 engine participating in a shunting trial. Your work, carefully watched by several teams of observers, will cobsist of assembling a rack of container wagons and delivering it to a specified track. The purpose of today's trial is to determine whether the Class 66 is suitable for shunting duties. *************************************************************** Briefing: A shunting puzzle has been created for you to solve while operating a Class 66 Freightliner in the York Yards. Follow the work order (F1), save often, and be patient. And don't neglect your reports afterward. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** NOTE: This scenario is also available through the Steam Workshop. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** INSTALLATION The scenario has been packaged as a RWP file. To install it, simply unzip Class 66 at York.rwp to a convenient location, such as the desktop, open Train Simulator Utilities, select the Package Manager tab, and click on Install; when the installer utility opens, navigate to Class 66 at York.rwp, select it, and click on Open. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** Tips: Identifying wagons and picking them up in the correct sequence forms the core of this scenario. The location of the first wagon to be picked up is identified in the scenario, but from there on you are on your own with only a Marshaling order and the final location of the rack to work from. To see the correct sequence of the wagons, press F1. To see wagon numbers, press F6 and F7. Use these aids in conjunction with the 2D map (press 9) to locate and navigate to the wagons in proper sequence. The Class 66 engine is not particularly suited to the stop-and-go activity of shunting. Before attempting to run this scenario, read its users' manual carefully; if you have never driven this engine, practice driving it in a free-roam scenario before attempting this one. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** NOTE!!!!! This scenario will not run in the absence of the DLC specifically identified above and may even cause TS2013 to crash in such circumstances. This will be your doing, not mine or anyone else's! *************************************************************** *************************************************************** I have rigorously tested this scenario and, as packaged, it is free of defects and runs as intended. You may edit and republish it as you wish, but I will not be responsible for the results. Please do mention my name as the scenario's original creator and include a copy of this file in your package. *************************************************************** *************************************************************** END OF FILE
