Old Prof

I would love to be on the Beta Testers list. When you find out where to apply, please let me know.

PapaXress

I just purchased Marias Pass DLC. I discovered that Marias Pass has the same identical low profile manual switch stand that came with Donner Pass. Apparently they cloned it for MP.

And I also discovered that the 'DS_manualjunction.TgPcDx' file, that is in the \RSC\MariasPass\RailNetwork\Junctions\textures\ folder, corrects the reversed (Red for Green and Green for Red) target aspect colors that were in error on texture file in the \RSC\DonnerPass\RailNetwork\Junctions\textures\ folder. The Marias Pass Manual Switch Aspect colors are showing correctly and are not reversed as the Donner Pass Manual Switch Aspect colors were. In other words, The the Design Team corrected the reversed switch target aspects colors. And I have successfully copied the Marias Pass manual switch texture file and overwrote the Donner Pass texture file. As a result, I now have a correctly displaying and a correctly animated manual switch stand in Donner Pass.

Hurray! It appears that RSC Support does listen to our complaints.

PapaX, you said previously that it might be possible to swap out the broken NorthEast Corridor low profile manual switch stands with a correctly drawn and animated manual switch stand from Donner Pass ( and now from Marias Pass as well ). Have you made any progress on assembling instructions for me to accomplish that fix? Or point me in the proper direction to uncover them for myself?

No progress yet. I have been coming home late from work and I have a pressing dead line for another project I am working on. Perhaps after the 15th.

PapaX

Please accept my apology for even asking. Take all the time necessary. Your own projects always have the highest priority. And I don't want to appear anxious... !*salute*!

No offense taken. I did offer after all. I am at a new job, new commute and as a result I am still adjusting my life. Less time with the kids, less time working on my own projects, and so on. I actually have a rather long list of things I offered to look at for the community. One of the oldest is a railroad lantern (which I hope to get into RCAP v3). I owe JP some tutorials which I was keen on doing but got stuck on half way through, some small models for MDurdan, and that is to name a few.

anyway, I am way off topic.

Buzz

I have no knowledge of route design. But I can always learn. Could I clone NEC and edit out each broken switch stand and edit in the working Marias Pass manual switch stands in just the passenger terminal yards where they are most noticeable?

I'm sure you can. Its worth a try to see to fix without affecting the default route.

A manual junction lever is just 5 files:
- a blueprint file (.bin)
- shape file (.GeoPcDx)
- texture file (.TgPcDx)
- two animations (.ban)

Can't you just copy those last 4 files from the Marias Pass RailNetwork\Junctions folder to the NEC folder, changing the names to the NEC names if needed?

Very good Chacal. It works perfectly. You do have to rename all of these after you move them but they work like a charm. OlPaint if it seems too confusing I'll send you the renamed ones. They are in the following path in the NEC. The texture file works fine.

NorthEastCorridor\RailNetwork\Junctions

In Marias Pass they are named:
Junction_Lever (this is the bin file)
MSS.GeoPcDx
MSS_anim.ban
MSS_anim1.ban

In my NEC folder, I have both a "Manual_junction_Lever_1" and a "MSS" sets of files.
Which one do you overwrite with which one from Maria's Pass?

I have a question. Is it possible to put steam engines in nec or there never was any?

It would be more useful to post the names, so I can make a batch file that you or anyone can use after a Steam verify.
