By the way, if anyone has any special request for alternative road names, let me know and I'll upload some (it doesn't take long to do).

Why not do a short tutorial on how to create our own road names?

Would love to see one in ATSF and New York Central.

Amazing we don't have any NYC anything ingame...

I'd just like to say I'm getting the same issue with the righthand cylinder as well.

That's a good idea! The problem is that I have no idea how to get a .TgPcDx file into Photoshop. I only know how to start from the source image file and get from there to an .ace file, and from there, via the Asset Editor, to a new .TgPcDx file (which relies on having the original model and its blueprints). If someone else who knows how to re-texture could explain that part (how to start with an existing .TgPcDx file), I can point you to the right files to edit:

The road name on the engine is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Smokebox\Consolidation\RailVehicles\Steam\Consolidation\ATN Weathered\Engine\textures\280ATandN.TgPcDx. The colour of the lettering is in the RGB channels, and the actual lettering is in the Alpha channel (white letters on a black background, because black is transparent).

The road emblem (it's actually there on the engine model, but for the AT&N it's a transparent texture because they didn't have a flag) is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Smokebox\Consolidation\RailVehicles\Steam\Consolidation\ATN Weathered\Engine\textures\280RR.TgPcDx. This one has an alpha channel too but it's entirely black (no transparency).

There are two tender models. The only difference is that one has the engine number on the side - that's the default one in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Source\Smokebox\Consolidation\RailVehicles\Steam\Consolidation\Default\Tender - while the other has the road name instead of the number. That second one is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Source\Smokebox\Consolidation\RailVehicles\Steam\Consolidation\ATN on Tender\Tender.

The file containing the road name on the tender is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Source\Smokebox\Consolidation\RailVehicles\Steam\Consolidation\ATN on Tender\Tender\Textures\280RR.TgPcDx. The texture is 256 pixels in height but the road name is in the bottom 60 pixels (and goes all the way across the whole 1024 pixel width of the texture file). The colour of the lettering is in the RGB channels, and the actual lettering is in the Alpha channel (white letters on a black background).

It's very odd, because both cylinders (all four roosters) use the same particle emitter. Have you tried pulling the lever only partially backwards, to reduce the amount of steam coming out? Also, can you tell me which graphics card you have? (NVidia 500 series by any chance?)

EDIT: I've rechecked the blueprint and there is one small difference between the left and right emitters. The left one has "F time before restart" equal to 0.01, but on the right side it's equal to 0.1. Maybe that's the reason.

I'll generate a new file for the right-hand emitter and send it to you so you can check it for me, if you don't mind.

Excellent! I'll try to get a patch up on Steam as soon as possible.

EDIT: I've emailed the file to RSC, so I hope they put it on Steam soon.

I was lurking on UKTS just now and saw that styckx pointed out that there aren't any running sounds on the wheels (no clickety-clack). He's right ... I didn't attach any sounds to the bogey blueprints. However, Matt told me that with the new sound engine, there are far more sound channels available than before. So, I'll see if I can make some wheel sounds and put them into the next patch.

Hmmm, now that's odd. Somebody posted on RSC's facebook that the Connie is a piece of junk. Now why would he say a thing like that? I wouldn't mind at all if somebody were to correct him (I can't, it wouldn't look right).

I've worked with the public for nearly forty years. No matter what you do, there are always critics that do nothing else. Your work is some of the finest I've seen and you have no reason to be concern about trivial matters. I have already substituted your consolidation into several scenarios and am eagerly anticipating running the 844 over Sherman Hill.

Keep up the great work!

More likely his driving skills are junk. You can't let it get to you. Nice to hear you'll take a look at adding bogie sounds.

Thanks Harry, I feel better now :D

Let me know if you have a problem with the right-hand cylinder rooster. If you do, I can send you a quick fix for it before the patch goes up on Steam in a couple of weeks.

(but I'm still tempted to report the guy for making an objectionable post, plus his post might harm sales of the loco, which apparently aren't as high as I had hoped anyway despite the reasonable price)

Thanks for the update on the road names. I use RW Tools to convert TGPCX files into DDS for editing. Maybe I'll have some time to try editing them tomorrow. BTW, some nice road names that we have routes for are: "Cimarron & Pacific" and "Moscow, Camden, & San Augustine."
