Do you happen to have a manual for it?

Great loco and I like trying to drive it....the scenario where you learn to drive it....bad idea to set it in the dark, I couldn't find any of the controls!

One thing mrennie, I cannot get the whistle to work all the time sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I'll have to look into that. Does it work again if you exit the game completely and go back in, or if you return to the main menu and go back? Or does it stop working when you do a save and resume? If I can get a better idea of the context of the problem, it'll make it easier to get to the cause of it.

Did you try turning up the brightness in the TS2013 graphics options? Actually, the bad thing about starting off at dawn (or early morning anyway) is that I tell you to blow the whistle, but at the end of the scenario, you get penalized for "improper use of horn"

I'll probably have to do a cab video sometime. Anyway, there are a lot of cab pictures in the manual and I hope you'll find it easy to get the hang of it. I deliberately avoided going too far with simulating failures, so for example, even if you forget to open the cylinder cocks, you won't get a game over with the cylinder heads flying off.

It only works if I clear the cache or restart, other than that if I edit one of my freeroams which has the engine in it and I click play every sound is there except the whistle.

OK, so it has something to do with the editor. That narrows it down.

So I drive almost 3kms and manage to loose all of my steam...awesome! defiantly will need to do a little more learning as the usual steam driving techniques for RW do not apply to this one.

A few tips to keep from losing steam pressure:

Keep the steam chest gauge reading lower than the boiler pressure.

If you see the boiler pressure needle going down (unless it's going down because the safety valves popped), lower the steam chest pressure (by backing off on the throttle or, better, hooking up the reverser), until it steadies.

Pull the damper lever up ... it lets more air into the firebox and gives you a hotter fire.

Keep the fire mass at around 650lbs. There's a picture in the manual that shows what the coal level looks like at the optimum amount. Letting the fire mass go down too low is one of the principal causes of losing steam.

Try to keep the red ball in the water sight gauge between the top two arms of the support. If you're firing manually, you should be using the exhaust pick-up injector frequently.

With practice, you'll get a feel for when it's the right time to open the throttle wide and how to use the reverser cut-off. I've found that a pretty good setting for getting up the grade from Altoona to Gallitzin is 100& throttle and about 60% reverser, but you have to control the locomotive all the time. It's definitely not a "fire and forget". In the Slippery Slope scenario, I go around the Horseshoe curve at about 20mph. That's what you should aim for.

That's right, It's a Consolidation type, but a completely different class. IHH has absolutely no relation to Smokebox.
