Krellnut's V2 Wagon sound pack with Sherman Hill

Unread postby CASO » Sun Mar 10, 2013 1:21 pm

Hi, I really like V2 of the sound pack, and I attempting to add it to the Sherman Hill wagons but am having no luck, does anyone here use them successfully on Sherman Hill, and how did you get them to work? Thanks in advance.

I suspect that the reason that they are not working for you is you are using the rolling stock that came with the route and my young friend above is running with some other cars. To get the darn things working with the Sherman hill rolling stock you have to go into the audio file in the Sherman Hill route and put Krellnut files there. Or you have to go into the rolling stock and modify the bin files to alias back to the Kuju files. Confusing enough for you?

Do I just put the proxy.xml files and the bin files or do I put the .wav files in as well?

I put them in there as well. Not sure if that's necessary but it didn't hurt anything.

I don't have Sherman Hill, so I don't know what the XML for the wagons is named. But whatever it is simply make a copy of my XML from WJ Sound wagon audio folder and paste to desktop. And rename it the same as Sherman Hill wagon XML is named. When you drop it into Sherman Hill wagon audio folder, and it asks you to overwrite, you have it right. No need to put the sound files in there. Increases the size of RailWorks folder needlessly. All audio in this game is read by the XML, the bin is dead weight, delete them.

They have the same names.

The sounds are working for all the cars except the woodchip gondola, the low gondola, and the four chute hopper.

Take krullnuts Wagon Freight.proxyxml as he said and copy paste it the desktop.
Open the Sherman Assets\RSC\ShermanHill\Audio\RailVehicles\Wagons folder there are 3 xmls in there. Rename krullnuts Wagon Freight.proxyxml 3 times for each of the Sherman ones. Wagon Cement.proxyxml, Wagon Coal.proxyxml, and Wagon Freight.proxyxml. You have to replace all 3. Got it? I can go into more detail if need be.

That's exactly it, except for the spelling of my silly username. LOL. Don't know why RSC continues to use three different XMl's for some cars. They all use the same sounds, so why not just use one XML like I did for my packs.

Did that, but for some reason there are cars that are not using the sounds, very odd.

Make sure you have WJ Sound enabled in the assets. Are you sure those cars are from SH and not some other pack?
Also I think in SH you have to change the ones in the Assets\RSC\ShermanHill\Audio\Wagons folder. I think there is two places for SH.

1. Assets\RSC\ShermanHill\Audio\Wagons
2. Assets\RSC\ShermanHill\Audio\RailVehicles\Wagons

I bet this is the culprit. !*cheers*!
