Is a set of templates out of the question? Would love to try my hand at painting up this beauty!

As good as the base model looks, I would be content to run it in its current stealth scheme. :D
Cheers!

If he is willing to send me his source for the B40-8W, I'm more than willing to put my P32 parts on it and send back. Which reminds me, horns.

Just a quick update. the paintjob is nearly finished in NS colors (my favorite). repainters can have their way after I get it out. I will enclose a "repainter" folder that will just have the baked maps available to manipulate. you can refer to the NS maps for where stuff is. I need to move the ditch lights to the deck, and have a variation that has the ditchlights below the deck so that the rest of the flags are prototypical. It has autonumbering now, sharper looking paint job now thats easier to repaint. Still need to bake a cpl of nose elements on and I'll be satisfied. Theres far more detail now. I changed the height of the cab roof, long hood and radiator wings so that they are just shy of being in line with what the dash 9 s. I thought it was a bit low for my tastes. now its nearly the same as the dash 9 as it should be. Then onto re-animating the doors windows and such. Gotta change the wheels to be have 24 sides on the circle. Then lastly gotta put cab in on exterior mode.

progress pics to come tonight, I think you'll all love the new dash 8C. I do!

Looking forward to it! When you get some time, can you tell me what "baking" means?

"baking"

Definition:
"Baking is a food cooking method using prolonged dry heat acting by convection, rather than by thermal radiation, normally in an oven, but also in hot ashes, or on hot stones."

Baking in RAILWORKS terms is a method of creating UVW maps that have shadows on them. You use 3dsmax rendering with a skylight applied to the model and the renderer will create a map.

Thats how you get the prefab shadows onto models so they have some depth.
