Now that would really be something! To have one player as the engineer and another, online, as the fireman. I can just imagine the arguments!!

("oy, leave that brake handle alone!" ... "well you stop messing with the firebox doors then!" ... "hey, who forgot to turn off the water?!" ...)

(right click ts2013 -properties -set launch options and paste that in. Default's 65)

Simply put this is the best third party engine out there.

im not seeing the set launch options section, can you be a little more specific?

Go to the Library tab in your Steam client, right-click on Train Simulator 2013 and select Properties at the bottom of the pop-up menu. Then in the "GENERAL" tab, click on the "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS..." button.

The only things left to add now are the air hoses, the bar that lifts the coupler, and a raised edge around the platforms (which I'll paint with a separate texture so that repainters can use different colours for the lining).

Just perfect for pottering about Ronceverte on the COA. :D
What I find interesting, is that you can achieve all of this as a "freeware" developer (now payware !!*ok*!! ) yet the "official" payware RSC releases are so lacking in the most basic of details. You have REALLY raised the bar in relation to the level of detail and realism, which is both a good and bad thing, as future releases are going to be measured against this yardstick.

*!!wink!!* Still tipping Easter for release....

Thanks for the new wallpaper. !*salute*! Hopefully this makes RSC step-up their game on US steam locomotives.

Me too. I was actually "speechless". I stood there in awe with a blank mind and all I could think of to say was what I posted.

Thanks for all these kind words, it's nice to be appreciated.

I want to get the rest of the package completed by the Sunday evening and uploaded to RSC so that they can distribute it to the beta testers.

One more thing I'll do is to make an alternative livery, based on the current one but with pale white lining on the platform edges, the outside base of the cab, the wheel tyres and the front and rear handrails, and painting the outside of the doors in red. I've seen videos of real Consolidations painted that way and they look nice. I haven't found any colour photos of the AT&N livery, but the black and white photos show one with no lining and another that does have it. I can make only an educated guess at the colours.

I think an extra livery would be great - but suitably grimy and weathered of course :D
