GP9 on steam problem

Unread postby Conrailsayshi » Fri Nov 02, 2012 4:40 pm

This is just a short little question. I would like to buy the gp9 for railworks 4 on steam but it seems that that product is not available anymore! !*don-know!*

What should I do to purchase this item?

You will have to wait until they update it. It was pulled along with several other units to be updated to 2013 standards.

Is the GP9 included with Donor Pass the same as the stand alone DLC?

By the dates on the files it appears to be the same one. You get several liveries with the stand alone one but the loco is the same.

Hmmm, well, the geopcdx and bin files are different sizes, the Donner Pass one is only in the SP livery, it also includes the snow clearing function, whereby the stand alone DLC model has several other liveries, but, no snow clearing tool of course, and they don't look absolutely 100% the same model to me, but, I'm British and my knowledge of GP9's is fairly limited. *!lol!*

That's ok. Even though there were obviously many other locos, it's the Deltic-based Class 55 and Class 23 that were burned in my brain as a child when I thought of the stereotypical British loco. I find the Deltic engine itself a fascinating oddity.

John Mckenzie (spelling) here in this Forum is an expert on the Deltics. I looked up the design of that motor once he pointed out that it's so different in design. Kinda like a V8 vs. a Wankle rotary, eh? That Deltic is some fantastic engineering. !!*ok*!!
