Back story (please be brief):
The D&S route represents the present-day 45 mile 3 ft narrow gauge railroad between Durango and Silverton. The track layout follows the actual railroad grade to the maximum practicable extent. The city of Durango, including the railroad yard, and the towns of Silverton, Hermosa and Rockwood are depicted. The world-famous High Line, where the tracks follow a ledge blasted out of rock walls as high as 400 feet above the Animas River, is included in all its grandeur.
