nm.. I must have been on a time warp to the 60's when I observed this. Deleted.

The speed limits for the Acela are also wrong. The Acela should reach 135mph on this route, particularly between Trenton and Metropark. I'm working on scenarios using the Spring 11 Amtrak timetable (will go with Fall 11 as soon as I order a new one) and the scenario editor doesn't want to let Acela 2168 make its first scheduled stop at Metropark at the correct time while using its correct starting location (3 minutes after PHL stop, but before North Philadelphia as the player train is Regional 173 which begins at 15:33). The Regionals I think also reach 125mph instead of the modeled 120mph.

Very true. I think this was brought up about the AEM7 during the first release.

North out of Trenton Regionals are up to 125mph by the time they reach Princeton Junction. Acelas are doing 135 at the same point and get restricted to 130mph a bit north of PJT around a couple turns. That whole stretch is one of the fastest sections of the NEC outside of the short 150mph zone.

Has anyone else noticed the Acela not always displaying signal speed on the cab signal display? The only signal indication I've gotten so far is the "CAB SPEED" indication in the Philadelphia area where it displayed 60 over 30 as it should, but the other signal aspects I was in, I only saw the track speed.

I've found that it does chage, but not until the train has cleared it. It's behaving much like the older style UK semaphore signals.

I assume there should always be a signal speed value showing? If so, then I've seen this already on my first run.

I decided to try the NEC stuff and want to report my very first experience with it from a consumer's point of view:

Installed the route and opened the first scenario presented... Acela Express. The scenario opens to underground stations/platforms and it's raining... underground. Yes, I said it's raining underneath the streets and city built overhead. *!rolleyes!*

I thought the train would never move... throttle up to 33%... finally realize I am moving so slowly I can't see it. A minute or so in, I'm creeping toward the open outdoors at an estimated 4-5 frames per second. 10 minutes later I'm going 30mph (according to the gauge; can't tell it out my window) stuttering along at 4-5 fps. The raindrops look cool as the wipers stutter back and forth across the windshield.

Hmmm, I had already cut my Graphic Options back to Medium (a couple of things on High), so it looks like I'll have to disable something. I decided to start small with a change to the weather to get rid of the rain. Hit Escape, clicked on Edit Route and I get an SBHH error. After the game finishes crashing, I try to relaunch it; while loading the route I get a "bad file" error. Shut down TS completely, re-launched, same error. Now I'm Verifying Game Cache.

My second experience with the NEC went a little better... no bugs to report, just poor performance. I can't drive the Acela there at all with TSX enabled; the Genesis is a tiny bit better but still 6 fps. The AEM out of Philly was acceptable. TS reported frame rates from 14-17.

I can't edit this route with TSX enabled; thermal shutdown. (still haven't tried editing with TSX disabled)

Actually, there was a bug... I lost keyboard input once. Is that still happening?

I'm running NEC on a MAC with XP under parallels.... The Silver Star Acela blue screens at MP47 looking for PR1_VADD.D11 Also blue screens looking for same file approaching DOCK interlocking with Acela just after Harrison looking for same File... Anyone else experience this? AEM-7 runs don't have the problem.
Kinda weird how is a scenery file connected to a scenario? (Assuming that's a scenery file)

I have seen the Acela cab speed signaling problem as well.
In the Silver Start standard scenario several restricting signals are encounterd from Penn station to Newark, but there is not a single indication in the Acela cab ! Just to double check I have cloned the scenario in Train Simulator 2012, swapped the Acela power cars with AEM-7s and made the same run: in this case at each restricting signal the AEM-7 cab display gave the correct cab speed indication. So I think there is a problem with Acela cab signaling scripts.
In addition, it would be nice if RSC could add the same warning sound whenever track speed or cab speed changes, same as implemented in AEM-7.

Now you see what I was talking about.... *!rolleyes!* Believe it or not, before the update and "optimization", this route ran like a dream. Smooth as silk, and I have a mid-range computer.... It is a beautiful route, with great signaling, and neat details...now it is almost unbearable to run...I went farming on "Farm Simulator".. Combining a couple of thousand acres usually calms me down!!

Hello everyone, I have just purchased/installed RW3 with NEC after a friend's recommendation, and I've been enjoying it apart from a few particular issues:

- Floating signals/missing masts throughout parts of the route
- Metropark garage completely missing, causing an allusion of floating cars/lightpoles.

Has anyone else experienced similar bugs? Or perhaps this was due to an installation error on just my computer?

Check to see if your SCENERY DETAIL is set to 10 in the OPTIONS. If it is less than 10 some objects will not show up. If it is 10 then you should get on Steam, right click on the TS2012 button and pull up the properties, then select LOCAL FILES from the tabs and do a verify integrity of game cache. This could take a while if you have slow internet. It checks your installation of RW and everything you bought from Steam to make sure it is current and not broken/changed or missing.

It was indeed the scenery detail setting. Thank you for the help.
