Well, I'm convinced that System Mechanic is the root of the probelms with RailWorks.exe being not found, at least on my machines. It must have a "signature" close to or identical to a known malware pattern so SM removes it "just in case". The two machines I had it on have been fine ever since I removed SM.

I've been using it for about a week now and I like it.
I still use CCleaner also as it picks up a few things Glary doesn't, and vice-versa.

You know the old adage, "If one is good, two must be twice as good as one" ,or something like that!

I actually use three programs as backups to one another. As you said, what one misses, the other picks up. I often wonder how "deep" these cleaners really go in making your OS run more efficiently.

1. Eusing Registry Cleaner
2. CCCleaner
3. Glary Utilities

I use none of those utilities and yet my railworks.exe was deleted and not replaced during the latest RW update, with the same symptoms as in the OP. Clearly something bad happened during the update.

I simply ran Verify game cache a few times until it reported no more missing files.
