"Fatal error in mode LOADING"

Unread postby sykartracer » Sun Nov 03, 2024 9:07 pm

So, I just received a crash report for the first time when trying to load Horseshoe Curve that said what the title says. First time in any build version I've ever seen Loading as a reason. Have tested every other route I have and HSC seems to be the only one that has this issue, and it seems to be affecting both official and workshop scenarios. I wanted to ask the community if anyone has encountered this before I go through up the ladder on trying to fix this. I attached both pieces for those more technologically-inclined if anyone can piece together how this happened as I haven't touched any files in a couple years. !*don-know!*

My first reaction is to tell you to uninstall the HSC by unchecking it on the DLC list exiting TSC, restart and then checking it off again. See if that fixes the issue.

I've had a similar problem a few years ago with workshop scenarios. In my case, unsubscribing to the scenarios through Steam took care of the issue. But per Buzz's suggestion, a fresh install of the route couldn't hurt as a first step.

I think I know what you're talking about, but the only way I know of doing that is going in via Steam Library>manage my DLC>Uninstall from there. Is there a way to do that in-game. Also, I have found that the PRR Alco RS11 DLC is also impacted. While I would be willing to uninstall that, I have the LV RS11 from the developer website also installed. Would the reset effect that?

That's the thing, I originally was going to play the People Power career scenario to get a better score, so I don't know how unsubscribing would help that !*don-know!* However, I do have 40+ scenarios installed on HSC right now (probably approaching 60 tbh) and I know there's at least 10-15 on there from users who are no longer on Steam, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to save the scenarios folder somewhere prior to the fresh install
