That was a norfolk southern locomotive painted by NS into southern colors as a heritage unit. It kinda says it in the image too.

There are actually a few southern freight diesels that had adopted the green, such as the alco RS-2s and EMD GP7s, but no freight units past 1970 had gotten the green paint.

I don't get what you mean, as that is still very much black, but I'll just end it at this so it doesn't have to keep going.

Again, your repaint does look pretty nice with the green. Think you could maybe reskin the F7 into the same green too?

According to the Paint.Net the color is r34-g69-b75. That ain't black. Suggest a bit of tuning on your monitor. !!**sorry**!!

Southern Railway diesel locomotives were painted green as well, roughly pre 1960 (with the old logo and monogram). Everything then went tuxedo black, even E units.

In the 1970s, green and gold with revised monogram and logos was brought back on E8s and the FP7s for passenger working. The freight engines remained Black. A GP59, 4610 was painted green as a sort of early heritage unit.
GP18s?, GP30s, GP35s, GP38s, GP50s, SD40s, SD40-2s, and SD45s were always tuxedo. It was first generation units such as Baldwins, GP7s, and the like that wore the original green scheme.

I hope this helps. Some tuxedo units oxidised to an almost greenish tinge, same as some old Army ALCos, but were black.

Why abandon it? You can still upload it all fine, don’t think there’s any issues with that.

I think we just need to let this argument die now. Nobody is getting anywhere.

Oh dear, I personally was looking forward to the “what if” green scheme on the SD40-2.
