3dtrains website no longer available?

Unread postby BedrockDroid » Sat May 28, 2022 2:56 pm

So recently, I had just purchased BNSF Seattle Sub from Eyein12 and I was trying to get the required items from the 3dtrains website. Scalerail, Scaleroads, and Wold Landscapes. I can't unfortunately access them because apparently, the website has been taken down by Marc. Is there any other way to get it? I really need those freeware items.

I have been following this semi-official thread, but not much information is being reported at this time as to the current state of 3D products. Evidently, a few months ago Marc had some medical issues and even information on that issue is being withheld. I suggest you read through the entire thread. Many others are affected by not being able to acquire these assets.

I just find it hard to believe that this man has just dropped off the face of the Earth without a trace.

If I was to die suddenly, I would just disappear from all my on-line communities. Nobody would come to post an explanation.

Unless you are a awful low profile individual I could find a obit or something but I suppose anything is possible. In any event if I put the tracks in a dropbox link he still wouldn't be suffering any financial loss since you still wouldn't have the route. I also have all of the 'Otto' tracks which was either done with Marc's permission or at least to my knowledge he never complained about it.

As to the freeware versions, if they were free to begin with there would not be any financial harm as long as they weren't packaged with a route but downloaded from a separate source. Just thinkin'. The payware versions would be a different story.

Do you know how to tell the difference? I have had scaleRail for about four computers now and have no idea.

That is all that I downloaded a while back. I do not have any payware packs. Watch for PM. I think that it said on the old webpage that the payware ones were more detailed.
