Thanks buzz456, that was precisely what I was looking for. Between me just now seeing your reply and frustration with seeing those naked couplers on a very nice model I had just bought this morning, I decided to try and fix them myself. As it turned out there was in the U33Coupled and U33Uncoupled GeoPcDx files a texture path linking to a DTM Rio Grande SW1200 model. Now if you had that model already in your Assets folder you were fine and would not notice anything incorrect, but if not (like me and others) the couplers would appear naked.

Not because the textures were missing ... they were indeed in the Textures subfolder of couplings\\buckeye\type-e\ folder; it's just that the textures lines of the 2 GeoPcDX files weren't pointing to them! Just a few deletions and my couplers were now decent *!!wink!!*

I'm still puzzled by that gyralight switch in the cab though, as while the lights gyrate they don't light. Anybody have a handle on that?

The mars light switch is in front of the motor control. Hard to see from the cab view as you are looking at the side of it.

I also have the coupler issue. I would like to fix it but not too good with TSTools. Cany anybody do a basic walkthrough on editing the correct file using TSTools? Thanks.

Why don't you just run the utilities.exe and install the rwp? That way you don't have to do anything. Holler back if you don't know how to run that and one of us will give you a quick walk through.

I had a go with the rwp and appeared to install successfully in the utilities app. However did not fix the coupler texture. I also tried to dump the cache and restart, made a fresh freeroam and placed locos. No texture.

Tried the package manager again and it tells me the package is already installed (from the first time). U33_Coupler_Fix shows up on menu as unprotected item. Hit refresh anyway and let it run. Test in game again and no textures still.

Not a big deal if you are in the cab a lot but would like to fix it.

I am assuming you have looked at several different variations and they all have no texture.

Look in the DTM\GE U33C SP\RailVehicles\Diesel\U30CSPEngine folder and see if the U30C SP.bin and U30C SP.xml are there and are they dated 09/20/2021 11:04 AM.

Let me know what you find or any other interesting stuff.

Thanks Buzz, those files are present but are dated 4 JAN 2022 due to when I installed.

I'm hesitant to use the "verify integrity of game files" in Steam as I am not sure it will nuke some of the other things that have been edited, (eng sounds, missing route textures, etc).

Whenever you modify "official" files, you need to have a way of applying your changes again after a "verify integrity of game files".
The easiest way is explained here:
Reinstall RW3 Mods with 2-Clickz (Basic)
Over the hill and gathering speed

I tried installing the coupler fix posted by buzzbaxter with the utilities tool but it doesn't work. Could someone possibly explain a fix that will work? Apparently the textures are there but linked to the Rio Grande SW1200. I don't really want to get that so if there is another fix that would be great. Have to say I'm not a computer genius so a "Coupler fix for dummies" explanation would be handy. *!lol!*

Many Thanks
