You can unzip a .rwp file just as if it were a zip file, I use 7zip. This way you can just drag and drop the folders to your Railworks installation and bypass the utilities executable.

Which files are you having a problem with; assets or route? or are both giving you a problem. As with another problem posted in this thread recently I downloaded those 2 and the update files from Mediafire again and installed them by unpacking them first and then dragging and dropping rather than using utilities and everything worked fine at this end (Note the update is not a .rwp file so must be installed by drag and drop after unpacking).

it is the route its self can i drag and drop that file if i unpack it

Yes make sure and drag it into the Routes folder.

You didn't get the assets into the right place. You asked me about the route not the assets.

Screenshot below shows the path to my Railworks installation (yours may differ). This is where you would drop the Assets folder that you find when you unpack my PRBAssets file. Reply YES if it asks to overwrite.

Also make sure you have all the dependencies - Tehachapi Pass from 3DTrains, Soldier Summit, Sherman Hill, Steven's Pass and RCAP (In the file library here at Railworks America)

November Update

Just the update file this month. If you need the route and assets they are on page 47 of this thread.

This update includes the work done on Torrington, Wyoming which is about 60% complete. Minor fixes across the route such as moving switch stands fouling adjacent tracks in yards. Scenery between Torrington and Henry should be in December's update along with the rest of Torrington

Readme pdf here;

https://www.mediafire.com/file/5joojxen ... e.pdf/file

pdf is the same as last month so if you downloaded it then you don't need it now.

Dependencies

Payware:

Tehachapi Pass (Majority of the route is from this dependency)
Soldier Summit
Sherman Hill
Steven's Pass

Freeware:

RCAP from Railworks America

Let's see if we can get this sorted out. We all started with zero knowledge so no worries on that account.

I don't know if there are any videos out there that deal specifically with Railworks files, maybe someone else can chime in they have come across any.

Let's take a look at your screenshot. First, the fact that you have anything displayed at all means you have the route in the right place since you were able to start it from the drive or build menu. It is missing some roads, some ground textures, some track and possibly a few buildings. The track that is there looks to be from 3DTrains Tehachapi Pass so I assume you have that, But let's verify that you have indeed purchased Tehachapi Pass from 3DTrains at this link: https://www.3dtrains.com/products/rw/ro ... hapi.shtml

The track that is missing most likely would be from Steven's Pass, pretty sure I used only track from Tehachapi Pass and Steven's Pass. So next step is verify that you have Steven's Pass. And as long as we are verifying dependencies, make sure you have Sherman Hill, Soldier Summit and have downloaded and installed RCAP from the file library here; http://www.railworksamerica.com/index.p ... =22:models

If you have all of the dependencies mentioned so far then the only thing left is to make sure my assets file has been installed to the correct place. This file is available on page 47 from this link; https://www.mediafire.com/file/lu7cbq83 ... s.rwp/file

Once downloaded and unzipped you will have a folder called PRBAssets. Go down 1 level in that folder and you will see another folder called Assets. Now open up another instance of file explorer and place it next to the already open instance of file explorer - you should see something like this next screenshot;

Install Assets.jpg

So, in the left window right click and Copy the assets folder then move to the right window and with your cursor anywhere within the center panel (where all your Railworks folders are listed) do another right click and Paste. This will drop my Assets folder on top of the Railworks Assets folder and it may ask to overwrite if you already have some of the subfolders and files - respond yes.

Look at the full path names displayed in both of those windows, yours may not be exactly the same but they should be similar, depends on where you installed Railworks and where your downloads go.

Give me a bit of time here so I can find the exact spot where you took the screenshot and I should be able to tell exactly what assets are missing. While I do that make sure you have everything I've mentioned so far.

Bingo!

The track in your screenshot is from Steven's Pass. You're missing everything from 3DTrains Tehachapi Pass so I assume you don't have it. My screenshot is from roughly the same position as yours and everything that is missing in your screenshot, mainline track, ground textures, roads, trees, buildings and grass is from 3DTrains.

No update for December. Three weeks ago my 1660Ti graphics card went to that great recycling center in the sky. I tried the Newegg Shuffle 10 or 12 times with no luck and I even went to my local Micro Center 3 times and no joy. I resisted the urge to try CraIg's List or ebay due to the high population of dead beats selling dead cards or empty boxes.

A very extemely-extended family member heard of my plight and just happened to have a 3070 they weren't using and I was able to grab that for a fair price today. So, after 3 weeks of aggravation I'm not in much of a mood to try to force a half baked update out for this month. Things should be back on track for January.
