I wasn't too sure these two may have been posted, but both of these are from 1936.

I recently came across this Sacramento Northern photo from June 1940. Location look familiar? That’s right, this two car train is stopped at Shafter Station and headed to San Francisco.

Sometimes I find a nice painting - the Artist is very much producing to this day and this is one of his better works.
Enjoy.

Just wow. The Illinois Railway Museum is pleased to announce that we have been donated the fully-restored 1911 Pullman car "Villa Real." This 10-3 heavyweight sleeping car ran on the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Wabash, among other lines, and was retired in 1957. It was beautifully restored to its 1930s appearance over the course of some 25 years by donor Al Sauer.

Buzz not sure if you know Al or not. I remember when he bought that car at auction. Far from what it looks today. I thought to myself then that I would not have bid more than scrap price on that car. He won and it was brought from Birmingham AL, I believe, to Huntsville AL. Car still had UC brake valves! One of the nicest people you will ever meet. Worked with him a lot when he lived here at the North Alabama Railroad Museum. He was married to his wife Louis and they welcomed me into their home quiet often. He helped me build the start of my n scale layout which I still have, although it has grown a bit since then. I believe that we worked on it either almost every Wednesday or Thursday night for a year. Louis always had dinner ready. I have a lot of fond memories of him. I am so glad that the Villa Real turned out so nice and he was gracious enough to donate it to the IRM. If you know of his were abouts please PM me. I would like to just reach out and say hello. He should remember me. Thanks for posting that. Very small world indeed.
