A new train simulator in town

Its at least a year away from release. Lets hope it doesn't become vaporware in that time. The promo video looks promising so we'll want to watch for updates.

The interlocking tower looks interesting, will you be able to set the line from there?

I'm pretty happy with where we are at right now.

That's what I thought, and then Derail Valley came along and showed us a whole new approach to train simming. !*salute*!

Cheers,

I just hope there will be an option to create your own assets and routes and publish them.

Truthfully I hope this game does well. We've been playing Train Simulator on the same engine for almost 10 years already, the simulator has already seen it's prime and it's obvious that Train Sim World is not the successor to our current Train Simulator 2020 that we wished for. If the game looks good, supports 3rd Party DLC and has content creating tools, I don’t see why I wouldn't play it. Competition in business is a good thing for innovation.

Just gotta hope that they don't hand it over to Microsoft during the last 3 months of development prior to release.

I wonder if it will support the type of world creation and asset placement methods that are possible in the latest flight sim.

Pardon my ignorance but what is an SDK?

SDK - Software Developers Kit, usually a user interface and a set of programming and/or graphical user interface tools that allow a user to enhance an existing program or build a new program. In a sense, the route editor is an SDK. It allows a user to graphically create a route, with the output being a set of files that Train Simulator uses.
