GN Cascadian graphics

Unread postby T34T28STF » Fri May 24, 2019 2:24 pm

I recently downloaded "2018 10-23 Cascadian Release V0 (1)".

I am using TS 2019.

The "GN Cascadian" Scenario accurately shows trees, buildings, etc. The ground, hills and mountains display yellow bands with black stripes.

Is there a remedy for this?

The "Stevens Pass" Scenario does not have this problem.

Thank you for your reply!
I did install G-TraX-Cascadian-patch1 and 2.
Unfortunately the scenery still displays the cross hatching of yellow bands with black stripes on level, hills and mountain areas.
In Package Manager if I try to install the patches again again a message "These assets are already installed" appears.

Those yellow and black stripes indicate missing textures. You might try installing the original package again. You might try messaging G-Trax for help.

Reinstalling did not work.

I will continue to check the Forum.

After holiday I will try to PM "ricksan" G-Trak if not resolved.

If you look above in the header you will see ricksan in blue, is the moderator of this forum. Just click it then choose PM. However when he or one of the members of his crew come here, they will also help. Have a nice Memorial Day.

Do you have your graphic sliders all the way up?

Sliders?
I went Settings - Graphics - Brightness all the way to the right.
Screen bleached out.
Returned brightness to Default (about middle)

Advanced:
All sliders to the right (Scenery Quality and remaining 4).
Did not resolve problem.

Left other options under graphics in default.

Stevens Pass (Steam) has always been O.K.

Thanks for all that have given suggestions.

Using ricksan's guidance I:

Assets Check
First, check the Cascadian asset file integrity by navigating to the following in your explorer program:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\G-TraX\Cascadian\Environment. You should see a folder there named "Terrain".
Right-click on the Terrain folder and select the Properties option. It should report 430 files in 7 folders and a total size of 142 MB.
Checked OK!

Content Check
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Content\a078a51f-90eb-41f3-a8b4-0354f66504d2\Terrain. There should be a file in there named DistantPatches.bin with a file size of 7,700,990.
Checked O.K.

I have attached an image of the problem.

Looks like you don't have the two asset packs (EU and US). Some of the ground textures will be loaded from there.

Tried a new computer.

When installing GN Cascadian received the attached error message.

Could this be the problem?

No. That’s a different problem. Read the post above your last.

It works! No banding.

I installed the two asset packs (EU and US) as suggested by Dan SSG and prompted by buzz 456.

Also thanks to others that responded.

Especially to rickson who answered my e-mails and gave me suggestions on how to properly post on the Forum.
